Did NVIDIA just confirm GTA V for PC?

In an earnings conference call last week, NVIDIA’s Senior Director, IR, Chris Evenden discussed the immediate future of PC gaming, and mentioned Grand Theft Auto V as an example of a blockbuster coming to PCs soon.

This was an official recorded investor call, so it would be surprising if this GTA V detail was unintentional. Explaining the strength of the PC market, and the threats posed to the cheaper laptop market by tablets, Evenden explained how sales of specialist systems like gaming PCs and workstations are still growing. He went on to say,

gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin’s Creed IV.

The only odd detail about this comment is the mention of fall. GTA V is unlikely to be released in fall, based on previous Rockstar releases. Normally PC gamers have to wait six to eight months after console releases from Rockstar, and as GTA V has not been officially announced yet, we’d expect that to be true this time around also.

We’ve reached out to NVIDIA for comment, and are waiting for a response.
